Yachats library commission selects a consultant for community study, expansion plan.
“The short-handed commission voted 3-0 last week to negotiate a contract with consultant Penny Hummel of Portland to help it and the city figures out how to operate, expand and suggest ways to more smoothly operate and govern.”

November 18, 2018:
Due to the high cost of moving to the 501 Building on US Hwy 101 (estimated in the range of $750,000), the current library will be seeing improvements in the future to the current building in the form of remodeling and possible expansion.
“On November 7 the City Council unanimously accepted the Library Commission’s recommendation that the focus of our efforts will be shifted away from the 501 building and towards the improvement of the current facility,” stated Marv Wigle, of the Library Commission.
