Beginning in Spring 2022, the Friends of the Yachats Library (FoYL) and the city of Yachats came to a mutual agreement. FoYL was given permission to store and sell books from the basement located in the Yachats Commons building at 441 Hwy 101.
The book sales will be smaller and more frequent than our “once upon a time” monster sales held in the main Commons multipurpose room. Sales will be advertised on the FOYL Facebook page and around the community. We will continue to have a spring sale, and there will be other sales throughout the year, especially during the summer on farmer market Sundays.
The basement of the Yachats Commons, a building dating back to the 1930s is not ADA compliant having only stairs for ingress and no elevator. Otherwise, parking, building entrance, and restrooms are ADA-compliant. If you have a disability that prevents you from using the stairs, please let us know and we will make every effort to make reasonable accommodations.
The FoYL welcomes all individuals to our book sales and will attempt to remove any barriers to participate in our sales such as setting books aside when the author, title, or genre is specified or retrieving books of interest on the day of the sale.
